Review for GreatNonprofits, Redwood City, CA, USA

I would give this site zero stars if I could. This site allows anyone to register multiple times and to carry out a vendetta against any site they have had a problem with. Members banned from sites can come here and trash the site they were banned from multiple times.

You do not get a true view of a nonprofit based on reviews at this site due to the above. This site is therefore without value.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Seeing the trashing of a site I value by a group of disgruntled users, some of whom have been banned. This group cannot countenance differing opinions. This site has enabled them to trash the site that won't just bow to their pressure.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Get some better IT techs. Develop procedures to block multiple IDs originating from one user and suspend reviewing a site when it is obvious that there is a vendetta going on.

Role:  General Member of the Public & Tried to use the site and got caught up in a zoo.

Breastcancer.org has served many functions for me. It has been a place for finding links to disease specific information, tips for dealing with various aspects of treatment, fashion tips and friendly conversation.

I've seen some complaining about the various forums but part of the draw to me is to be able to talk about things other than just cancer. Cancer already takes up enough space in my life. It's nice to be able to discuss other things with the friends I've made at the site. Users can avoid those areas that they don't like and there is an ignore function to use if you find a particular user to be irritating.

Sharing information with other women also touched by breast cancer.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

have a closer watch over matters of opinion presented as fact, and perhaps a notation that users should consult with their doctor before following advice on the forum.
