My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Mission Guatemala Inc, Indianapolis, IN, USA
I was able to be a part of a team that assembled stoves (wood burning) in some of the neediest homes in the Panajachel area. I also assisted with other work such as working on the foundation of a local home as well as sanding & varnishing tables for a feeding center. Our team worked hard not only getting the stoves assembled but also took time to interact with the families we were helping. It was exciting to see the homes & really feel like what we were doing was going to make a difference in their day to day lives. All of our accommodations (lodging, meals, transportation) was completely taken care of and always timely. The "fun day" was also well planned out and fantastic!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I'm sorry...I don't understand this question. I enjoyed my time in Panajachel and would've gladly stayed longer if I could've :) I'm hoping to return at some point.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I would've appreciated having a few more specifics on the type of work we would be doing just so I could've been a little more prepared. For example, there were times boots would've been more helpful to have than tennis shoes. And, I could've used better rain gear (especially riding in the back of a pick up truck while it's pouring down rain). These aren't complaints...we made due with what we had.

Rejuvenated...there were moments of exhaustion, but overall, I felt good about the work we accomplished. And, I enjoyed the balance between working on a task and interacting with the locals.
