Review for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Heart of Georgia, Inc., Macon, GA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

When I decided to become a big sister, I never thought this experience would influence me as much as it has. At the beginning, it became a challenge because of my schedule, but it soon became the highlight of my week. Ironically, I wasn't only mentoring my little sister, she was mentoring me as well!!! I learned so many things from her and she definitely contributed to my growth as a person. It was after this realization that I decided to form part of Club Esperanza, where I became a Big Sister of three precious girls. Each day I visited all of my four little sisters, I thanked God for the joy HE brought to my life through these four little treasures. They were the ones who with their words and smiles made me feel great about life, even when things are school became tough. The payoff?...A call I received recently from all of them this summer telling me that they can't wait to see me again. What was so amazing to hear was not that they want to see me again, but the simple sound of their innocent voices. The feeling is mutual. I can't wait to see them again...to see what God has prepared for them in life. Another payoff?...my growth as a person and increased gratitude towards God for my life :)

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

My growth as a person.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

That I had the opportunity to work with children from different ethnicities.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Very generous, had great personalities, were very motivated and always inspired the children to be someone in life.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Do more activities with the children.

Ways to make it better...

I had not waited as much to be matched with a little sister.
