Review for SHIELDS for Families, Los Angeles, CA, USA
I got to know Shields through a documentary film project exploring the people and the benefits of their program model. The incredible stories of hope and strength from the group was amazing. Extreme obstacles of addiction and abuse did not keep these folks from returning to the work place and community with a new mission.
Many people including families give up on those who struggle with addictions but not SHIELDS. What a wonderful organization who cares.

hearing the stories of accomplishing goals that no one would ever believe. From homeless on the streets to the classroom, to holding jobs and re-unifying families..
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
the only change would be to give them more support, funding to help them grow the model across the world... to important to overlook!
