Review for Inlet Dance Theatre, Cleveland Heights, OH, USA
Inlet Dance Theatre is an company in Cleveland in which I feel does not get the credit it truly deserves. Having worked for Inlet as their lighting designer as both a Volunteer and as a contracted person, I have found that what they do transforms the people involved. Generally, dance is something in which the people involved are just a tool for the Choreographer. With Inlet, the choreography and the people transform together. I am in awe each time I see a group of new young people involved with Inlet. I see them grow as people as well as artists. The sense of discipline not only in their work ethic, but also in their personal ethic that is taught to them is something I wish that every young person could have the opportunity to learn. It is a joy to be able to help out the company and watch how it can take an individual and move them to a higher place through dance.
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
how young people, who lack in discipline and focus transform over a short period of time through dance.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
help give them the opportunity to take their unique dance training and performances throughout the country in educational shows and performances.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The people. The full time company members as well as the Artistic Director are truly generous human beings and artists.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
dedicated to the cause.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
continue to transform dance by the the young people involved.
Ways to make it better...
Inlet Dance had better resources to reach a wider audience.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
The lack of funding is the major obstacle. It would be beneficial if all of the full company could rely on this job as their primary source of income to be able to continue their mission full time.
