Review for Victory Reins Therapeutic Riding Center, Peotone, IL, USA
I became involved with Victory Reins after reading an article about it's opening. I had been looking for a place that would let me ride a horse and get some exercise at the same time. I contacted Sandy the director and started 3 years ago. My husband and I were asked to be on the Board which we were honored to be a part of. I also helped run the last 3 fundraisers. Since I am a volunteer, special needs student and Board member I have been able to see all sides of this organization. Not only do I receive the therapy I need, I get to ride a horse in a safe and friendly enviorment. Victory Reins is more than an organization it is a family. Friendships are made and information is exchanged. Once you observe or work with a special needs student
you form a bond. Nothing is like watching a fearful child break into a smile as the horse begins to move and the accomplishment that child feels at the end of the ride. I hope all special needs community members find their way to Victory Reins and experiance the love and devotion of the volunteers and horses. Sandy becomes your friend, mentor and instructor all rolled up into one. I can't wait to see what the future holds!

Review for My Angel with Paws, Inc., Deland, FL, USA
At the Peotone fair last year I came across the MAWP booth. I was riding my scooter and went to the booth to see what MAWP had to offer. I was told that due to my mobility issues I could be a candidate for a service dog. I filled out my application and as I am waiting for my "forever" service dog, I have observed training and have shared in a good friends puppy raising responsibilities. The more I have observed this organization the more I would like to be a part of it and those they help. Having MAWP start a Midwest division (where I live) will be so helpful to the many disabled community members. Chris the director and Sarah T have been instrumental in helping my friend and I with training a puppy and answering all our questions and concerns. My story will continue on as I wait for the perfect service dog to meet my specific needs but as I continue to wait others have received their dog and have gained companionship and increased independance. I can't wait!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
observing training and consulting one on one with the director and the midwest trainer. They have made the long trek to where I live to meet and work on dog issues or just discuss the next step in obtaining a service dog.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
like to see a building for the midwest division to use and have more trainers available. I would like to see more education in local clubs or schools to educate the public on service dogs.
