Review for Organization for Autism Research, Arlington, VA, USA
OAR is a fantastic organization! Their mission of applying practical research to issues and challenges facing children and adults with autism and their families EVERY DAY is phenomenal. Finding a cure is important, but dealing with the realities of autism on a daily basis is extremely challenging, to say the least. The fact that this organization was started by parents and grandparents of individuals with autism demonstrates that they truly understand what it takes to deal with autism in the short term and longer term. Michael Maloney, Executive Director, and Allison Gilmour, Director, Programs and Community Outreach, are excellent to work with, and very nice people who really and truly care deeply about the organization and love what they do.
In planning for the First Annual Colonial Beach Blues Festival, for which all net proceeds were donated to OAR, I personally researched all autism charitable organizations and chose OAR as our beneficiary for it's excellent reputation and high ratings on your website.
