Review for Organization for Autism Research, Arlington, VA, USA
On June 23, 1993 my daughter was diagnosed with autism and I found myself wondering what was next and how I could help her. In researching I found that a lot of the same questions I had were still unanswered. With the development of the Organization for Autism Research in 2001 came a new opportunity and hope that some of those very questions would be answered.
I witnessed the lack of research and coordination of information for parents of children with autism. Under the direction of Jim Sack and Mike Maloney OAR has afforded new opportunities to researchers and parents by allowing these researchers to further explore this field. I have personally witnessed the great work they have done and continue to do. The research efforts they support represent new hope for all who are affected by the autism spectrum.
