Review for Haiti Clinic Inc, Vero Beach, FL, USA

This is a wonderful charity that provides a medical clinic in a very poor inner city area. Pills are provided for the patients in small weekly or monthly bags so that they may have them without cost.

My connection is working in a senior housing development in Sebastian, FL. About six women ages 70 - 89 count out the pills and bag them for the monthly trips to Haiti. These women are delighted to be able to help in a charity that so directly benefits those who need care. The women themselves suffer from various ailments yet they can participate by doing this service. Haiti Clinic, Inc. helps the Haitians as well these frail elderly women who enjoy being useful.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would not change anything other than expand the program if possible. It is so beneficial to the Haitians who need health care and it provides a joyful activity and confidence in their abilities for the women who are counting and bagging the pills to be distributed.

Role:  Volunteer & I meet monthly with one of the nurses who goes to Haiti. She has the pills to count, the little bags for each patient, and the labels identifying the medication.
