I run an equine advocacy website for profit and donate 100% of the proceeds to equine rescues. Naturally, I am selective about the organizations that I donate to, and TheraPony is one of the organizations I trust and admire and financially support.
This is an amazing organization with a heart run by a very kind and passionate woman and her family and team of volunteers. Resourceful and frugal, TheraPony is a solid nonprofit and I personally encourage you to consider financially supporting this great little rescue if you are looking for ways to get involved in the cause.

iPump is the only nonprofit in the United States that provides free insulin pumps to children with diabetes. In addition to free pumps, we also provide critical, free diabetes supplies. And if that is not enough, iPump gives away free hand-made quilts to children with diabetes. Children with type 1 diabetes will die without insulin and the proper medical supplies necessary to manage their blood sugars. iPump is working hard to keep kids (and adults) with diabetes alive until there is a cure. Since its inception in 2006, iPump has assisted more than 10,000 people (free) with diabetes in 46 states. As an all volunteer organization, few nonprofits can boast the work we have accomplished in such a very short time.

Since June of 2006, more than 10,000 people have received free supplies. We help when state programs and other organizations turn kids away. We never say no to a child in need. When a parent cannot afford their child's diabetes care supplies we help!

I do run this organization. I would like to open walk-in free clinics for donations and free diabetes care throughout the United States.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
Saving lives. Knowing parents can go to bed at night knowing their child will be alive in the morning because they have the necessary supplies to manage their childs' diabetes. We help keep families in crisis together and children from being hospitalize

We are all volunteer. No one has been paid - not even the CEO who devotes 60 or more hours each week to running iPump. We care because we are all people who have diabetes, or who have a child or loved on with diabetes.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
In two years, on $75,000 donated almost entirely by our board we have shipped almost one million dollars in supplies to kids and to clinics (reaching 10,000 people). With 10 million bucks we could reach no less than one million more diabetics in crisis.
Ways to make it better...
More people knew about our important work and helped financially. For three years our organization has been run mostly by one tireless full-time volunteer. With more help we could help more people.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Lack of financial donors. We have distributed more than one million dollars in free diabetes supplies that were donated to us. But we have received virtually no cash donations to cover shipping, overhead, and business costs.
One thing I'd also say is that...
Without insulin and proper testing supplies children with type 1 diabetes will die. We are working hard to keep people with diabetes alive until a cure is found.
