Review for Making Books Sing Inc, New York, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Making Books Sing has worked with my third through fifth grade students for the past 8 years. Students love adapting books of their choice to plays. They look forward to working with the teaching artist who are highly skilled, and who demonstrate an amazing ability at adapting to the needs of children of all learning styles. The program has a strong literacy component which enhances our students academic progress. We have also Partnered with Making Books Sing in our Parents as Arts partner's program to deliver high quality parent workshops.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

a deeper understanding of Theater by our students, as well as their joyous expressing during each session.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Expand the program to reach younger students.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Watching the children work with teaching artist producing original plays based on books that they enjoy.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Knowledgeable, helpful and innovative.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Reach far more children. I believe that all children should have exposure to a program such as this.

Ways to make it better...

If I hand more funds to have more sessions for each grade.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Funds.

One thing I'd also say is that...

This program has made a difference in our school. Our ESl children benefit greatly from participating in the theater activities as significant growth can be seen in their language development.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
