My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Tomorrow's Aeronautical Museum, Compton, CA, USA
I have seen first hand the amazing work that this organization does with inner city youth and the surrounding community. The founders are incredibly adept at reaching out to the (nearby) Hollywood and celebrity community to get help with PR and funding, and at the same time are wonderful communicating their message and employing folks from the Compton neighborhood where they are located. The recent incredible cross country flight, and fantastic press from Kim, has helped put this place on the map.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
The community, in the press, and with my own son who worked there one summer
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Find a way to make sure that they were funded completely through the next 20 years to make sure their good work would continue. And probably use the money that comes in to advertise on the web or TV.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
Seeing it grow, and knowing that it can reach for the stars. The most recent experience with Kimberly, the young 14 year old who flew across country was awe inspiring
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Robin and Myra Petgrave were both courteous and completely professional.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Do better than NASA to get started on putting a human being on Mars.
Ways to make it better...
I had more time to devote to their incredible endeavor.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Publicity...recognition...and dealing with the down economy where people are less likely to give to outstanding organizations like this.
One thing I'd also say is that...
Every dollar that goes into Tomorrow's Aeronautical Museum and its efforts, is going to have an exponential effect on the success of the young people in the community. When you know how to fly...you can do anything.
When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
