Review for Nanubhai Education Foundation, Warner Robins, GA, USA
The Nanubhai Education Foundation is an amazing organization that seeks to advance education in rural India by promoting English and technology education at the grassroots level. India is changing so rapidly, but a large portion of the population does not participate in the new economy. Through NEF, highly qualified and committed American teachers are sent to public high schools. I have been impressed by the teachers in India, and have had the privilege to talk to several about their experiences. I am also excited to meet and talk to new volunteers willing to donate their time to help us on fundraising and outreach. It is incredibly rewarding to be part of an organization that has already done so much to give underprivileged children in India an opportunity to climb out of poverty and committed to building on that momentum one student, one classroom and one high school at a time. In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
expanding the program to more high schools and more states in India. I am confident that the current team in place will be able to meet this challenge and reach even more underprivileged children across India.
One thing I'd also say is that...
nonprofit work, and working at Nanubhai in particular, is a rewarding, challenging and humbling experience. I wish I had realized earlier in life the benefits of volunteering.
