Review for The Victory Center, Toledo, OH, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have seen so many people encouraged by The Victory Center! I believe the free services offered there truly benefit the wellness of each participant and caregiver. Never before have I met a staff more friendly and sacrificial of their time and energy. They go to great lengths to make each participant feel welcome and comfortable. Since several of their services are available to survivors, The Victory Center offers a unique and lasting support network that continues to impact the lives of participants long after their treatments are finished!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing a positive physical, mental, and emotional impact on every participant that walks through the doors of The Victory Center.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

advertise to the community more about the services offered here. Of course this would require more fund-raising, so I would be sure to do my part and volunteer my time for this effort to help gain more support!

Would you volunteer for this group again?

Definitely

For the time you spent, how much of an impact did you feel your work or activity had?

Did the organization use your time wisely?

Very Well

Definitely

Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)

My experience at The Victory Center showed me a different side of the cancer experience. I learned that a holistic approach to cancer treatment can be extremely beneficial to the overall well-being of the cancer patient. I believe I will be a better doctor someday because of my experience here. In addition to this, I made great friends, improved my communication skills, and gained an immeasurable sense of accomplishment. At the end of each day of my internship, I felt like I truly made an impact in some way either for The Victory Center or its participants.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2011

Role:  Volunteer & I helped The Victory Center by interning for 8 weeks during my summer break from medical school. I helped raise funds through special events, helped with office work, participated in several services and support groups, and helped organize new programs.
