My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Tomorrow's Aeronautical Museum, Compton, CA, USA
What an amazing concept Robin Petgrave has created through TAM. I have a professional pilot and I have volunteered/visitid Robin's museum on several occasions. Robin understands exactly what kids need to get excited about math and science. He's great with kids! His use of aircraft to motivate students is literally the "perfect vehicle". Some of his students will become professional pilots, and all of his students will benefit from the inspiring opportunity that his flight school and museum represent.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
the performance of children who are inspired to study math and science because they can earn the opportunity to receive free flight instruction.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Expand the program to include subsidized aircraft mechanic vocational training. I would also expand my advertising program to attract more traditional flight students from around Southern California.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the people who run it and the kids who benefit from it. TAM is innovative and they are located in the right place to make a difference.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
outstanding and dedicated.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
reach a critical mass where it could become truly self-funded and less reliant on donations.
Ways to make it better...
TAM was assisted by additional resources to expand its programs.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
lack of funding. Also, I don't perceive that the organization has yet reached a critical mass to survive if something were to happen to Robin Petgrave.
One thing I'd also say is that...
the aviation community needs TAM. Thank you for your support!
