I began my work with Bering Omega Community Services through the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. I served as a full-time volunteer, 40 hours per week for a year, at their dental clinic, Day Treatment Program, and Omega House, their residential hospice. Words cannot describe the impact that opportunity had on me. I was fortunate enough to get hired as a Front Desk Coordinator at the Dental Clinic after my volunteer year, and I have now served as the Volunteer Coordinator for just over a year.
I feel blessed and fortunate to be able to provide similar experiences to new volunteers looking to make a difference in their community. I also see the work that is done for our clients, not only by volunteers, but by our staff, and I feel fortunate that we are able to provide the services we do. Without our agency, our clients lives would be lacking, to say the least.
