My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for The Lighthouse Foundation, Baltic, SD, USA
The Lighthouse Foundation has been an inspiration to our community. I first became aware of the agency in 1994 while working for a health and human service agency. What amazed me about the agency was it's willingness to give to those in need with nothing expected in return. The agency has wonderful staff and volunteers that were always willing to take an extra step and make something positive happen. It has been a pleasure working with the agency over the past 18 years. You won't find a more devoted agency, staff, or volunteer base anywhere.
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
action! They have met more needs (emotionally, spiritually, physically) than one could ever dream. I can't praise this agency enough. The Lighthouse Foundation takes a calm, quiet and collected approach to barriers and works through them.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
strive to continue the blessed work that was started before me, seek to assist more with less, and always stay true to the mission of God.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the cooperative, forward thinking approach to improve our community. The agency has a "Can Do" attitude that is infectious. If you believe, you can!
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
extremely friendly and personable. They make you feel at home in a tough situation and don't give up on someone who didn't get it right the first time.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
bring about lasting change to blighted communities, families, and children. The possibilities are endless. I know the agency would make 100 million dollars worth of change with the 10 million they started with.
Ways to make it better...
I really can't think of a way that it could have been better. How can you ask for change when truly good hearted people are working hard to make a difference in a community?
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
the lack of community knowledge about the wonderful work being done in their own community by an agency that asks so little.
One thing I'd also say is that...
I believe in the mission of The Lighthouse. They are helping many with basic human needs, including friendship. I'm proud to be associated with an agency that does what is right because it is His way!
