Review for Phoenix Gate Inc, McAlester, OK, USA

Rating: 4 stars

I have had the pleasure of working with Phoenix Gate since 2005, first as a volunteer, then as an employee and now as a board member. I have watched so many people benefit from the programs that Phoenix Gate offers. Many of the clients begin with resentment and finish with the knowledge and confidence to choose a better life for themselves. I have seen clients, who have completed their programs, continue coming to classes just to revisit the environment that they grew to love. This says a lot! The counselors and staff at Phoenix Gate really care about helping people.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the attitudes of the clients after they have completed their programs. Most begin their programs not wanting to be there, and most end their programs wanting to return for continued support. Phoenix Gate is a safe place for them to express and learn to understand their feelings and actions.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

make more space for counseling and have more offices open for client convenience.

What one change could this group make that would improve your volunteer experience?

I honestly wouldn't change anything to improve my own experience, however, I think that more space and private rooms for counseling would have improved clients experiences.

Yes definitely. I learned to manage an office and made many lifelong friends.
