I have had the opportunity to work with this wonderful organization for several years. My main focus is the Day Treatment program. This program began when the AIDS epidemic was hitting hard and caregivers needed to go to work; however, they needed care for their loved ones. At the time they would drop their loved ones in the emergency rooms with a sack lunch. They knew they would be taken care of there. The Care Center opened for this specific reason. As the epidemic evolved so did the program. The once then Adult Day Care is now the Day Treatment Program. Clients show positive health outcomes by attending the program. Lower viral loads, higher CD4 levels, decreased feelings of isolation and depression, and a socialization factor that is much needed. Bering Omega provides exceptional services for thier clients.
