Review for WeSPARK Cancer Support Center, Sherman Oaks, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

WeSPARK is a phenomenal organization that does wonders for the community and beyond! One of my dearest friends is a WeSPARK employee and her love for the organization and the good that it does never ceases to amaze me. Their work is invaluable to the population that it serves, offering a plethora of support opportunities that enhance the healing process for cancer patients, both physically and, more importantly, spiritually. The city of Los Angeles is truly indebted to WeSpark for its work with and promotion of alternative therapies, making them an ideal candidate for the 2009 Cancer Fighters Award. --Jennifer

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the plethora of services that WeSpark offers, including creative classes, support groups, and alternative therapies such as yoga.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

want to see it grow exponentially! The organization cannot fulfill its mission without the much-needed resources it requires and, more importantly, deserves.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

its promotion of alternative therapies, such as yoga and creative classes, something lacking in current mainstream treatment options.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

kind, careful, loving, patient, friendly, aware...the list goes on.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

expand the population that it serves, locally, regionally, nationally. This has great implications for the population at large.

Ways to make it better...

WeSpark had more resources to continue the good that they do, in order to expand its invaluable mission!

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

lack of resources, as with many organizations in the non-profit sector, especially in these economic times. It is important that in these times we reevaluate the social value of non-profits. WeSpark is one of those deserving, exemplary organizations.

One thing I'd also say is that...

WeSpark is an ideal organization whose work serves a greater cause.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009
