Mission: To promote the dignity of women and a respect for all human life. We seek to accomplish this goal by offering the loving support and comprehensive aid necessary to enable all women to continue their pregnancies, deliver healthy babies, and adequately care for themselves and their children.
Results: 55,060 women and children served since our founding in 1981.
Target demographics: Pregnant and parenting women and teens as well as low-income families with infants or toddlers. They come from the greater Washington, DC area, particularly Arlington, the District of Columbia, Montgomery County and Prince George’s County. The vast majority of our clients are Latino and African-American, and most are threatened by long-term poverty and homelessness.
The Northwest Center is extremely helpful in so many ways, as a former resident it is a great place to learn and grow as a responsible adult with exceptional guidance. Susan, the Director of the center is awesome and really takes the time to listen and help in anyway she can, for me personally Susan was there at various court sessions, wrote recommendation for scholarships, helped furnished my apartment when I moved out and most importantly I can still call her at a time of need! I cannot express further how wonderful the program is and I am so grateful to have found a non-profit organization like the Northwest Center! Thanks Again!
