Project Safe is a wonderful resource in Athens for those who have experienced domestic violence. They have some of the most compassionate staff who take the time to help in any way they can. They are professional and caring and work very hard to help DV victims. I love that their thrift store supports the organization and people in the community who need clothing and household items. Great organization!
project safe hits so close to home and is doing amazing things for people that are needing help getting away from a bad situation. they genuinely care about helping and they truly want everyone who comes through them to thrive.
Project Safe is an unbelievably amazing organization from its staff, its mission, Its intraorganizational support, and holistic passion for uniquely helping each client to ensure their safety, rehabilitation, and success. I had the wonderful opportunity of working for Project Safe as the fatality review intern over the past year, and gained a great deal of experience, knowledge, and support from my fellow staff members. I truly felt as though all of my work was purposeful, helpful, and intentional with regards to Project Safe's mission, and felt as though my work and personal well-being were fully supported by not only those I directly worked with, but by members of the staff all throughout the organization. Project Safe is abundant with passionate individuals of all backgrounds ready to dedicate themselves to individuals seeking support, help, and safety! I could not have asked for a better experience as a staff member of Project Safe, and am beyond thankful that this organization exists for members of our community to turn to.

I am currently serving as the Community Service Chair for UGA's Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law organization and recently facilitated a virtual Zoom presentation for our members in which Stephanie Molkentin joined our organization to educate us about both domestic violence in general as well as the many amazing services Project Safe provides. It was an extremely educational, inspiring, and necessary presentation that equipped us as members of the community to be more aware of the very real and prevalent problem regarding domestic violence as well as actions we can take to serve those who may be in need of support. Having worked with Project Safe numerous times, I can truly say this is an extraordinary organization that best serves those in need of various types of support in response to their very difficult situations.
As a child raised in domestic violence, I understand firsthand the fear and anxiety this causes the victim, but sadly the children. I am grateful for organizations like this who provide resources and empower those who decide to leave abusers. As a local volunteer, I find the website JW.org extremely useful in giving victims of abuse hope. I use the search bar and type in domestic violence and a plethora of free articles display. I have attached a picture of my favorite article.
May you victims and volunteers keep displaying courage & love!
Volunteers from Project Safe took time out of their busy lives to present to our organization and answer any questions we had about their role in our community. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff!
Incredible organization with the sweetest volunteers and an incredible selection of items! I always leave feeling happy about my purchases and the cause I am supporting.
I interned with Project Safe for a year and they’re a wonderful nonprofit! From the mission to the people, Project Safe is changing the lives of Georgia residents and making the world a better place. Every employee works hard to support victims of domestic violence, whether that be through legal support, advocacy, or just helping someone in the Thrift Store. I was so lucky to work with them and I learned so much from the amazing staff!
Project Safe is one of the rare non-profits that I've worked with that focus so much of the funding to the actual mission of the non-profit. It's amazing what can be done when the focus of the non-profit is actually on helping people. A surprising amount can be done with a small amount of funding and Project Safe is a perfect example of those results.
