Ouaganet is a great non-profit working for the poorest in rural Burkina Faso. The activities of this small organization are laudable. They have so far conducted high impact activities that have brought significant changes to the livelihood of the projects' beneficiaries.
Ouaganet helps people in very remote places in Burkina-Faso with the very limited resources that the organization has. What I like about Ouaganet is that it encourages sustainable growth by helping people in deprived areas create revenue generating activities. I would encourage anyone able to help ouaganet to do so. Great initiative, keep up the good work!
I discovered this organisation around 2004 as I was conducting research for a planned journey to Burkina Faso. While researching I stumbled upon a website for this organisation where I received answers to my many inquires about Burkina Faso. The most joyous part of this experience was learning of its humanitarian efforts for the people of Burkina Faso. In my years of traveling, giving back to the places visited is very important to me but often difficult to organize. Ouaganet under the direction of Luc Zio is very organized and dedicated to the people of Burkina. When donating to some organizations you may feel that no impact is being made, but with Ouaganet I saw first hand while in Burkina how great this organization is. Not only have I donated to this organization but I have have assisted in the transportation of resources to Africa. Upon the return of my initial visit to Burkina, I engaged my fellow co-workers to get involved by collecting discarded soccer jerseys from their children and their donations were sent to Burkina immediately. Ouaganet took photos of the children in Burkina wearing the jerseys and emailed them to me. When I shared the photos with my co-workers, they wept tears of joy knowing that their contributions had made a difference in the lives of these beautiful children! This organization is very special and unique and deserves all of the support that it can get!
