As a donor and volunteer, I am constantly in awe of the crew at OMI. Every time I come to campus, there is a new improvement to benefit the animals. From innovative fundraising to specialized care, residents are given the very best opportunity for a wonderful life. They have even added educational opportunities in the form of the monthly pig forum for this who want to dive deeper into the philosophy of care and decisions made for the organization. And next school year they will be participating in a wonder internship program with high school students to educate in sanctuary care. Top tier organization!

I have volunteered with the animals of Odd Man Inn since 2018. I am one of the volunteers who was in Tennessee before Odd Man Inn came here. Wendy and Josh and the rest of the team welcomed me with open arms and I am treated as one of the family. I consider it a great honor to be a senior volunteer animal caregiver and I look forward to the days that I spend at the sanctuary.
I love that every time I visit there is some thing new, and improved that has been done on behalf of the animals. From infrastructure to feeding routines and maintenance of the herd, to medical records and care crew training, Odd Man Inn is constantly striving for improvement.
I have learned so much about the care of the farmed animals that now make their home at Odd Man Inn! I went from having no knowledge of any type of farm work to being a valuable member of the team, who can independently tackle many of the regular chores on the property. The kind of care that I have gotten from the crew at Odd Man Inn is commensurate with the care that all of the animals receive regularly. There is a belief that everything is connected, because it truly is the animals matter, and the people matter, too.
My wife and I gave six figures to this organization when we trusted that their main purpose was to be thought leaders on the care of farm animals within a refuge. We no longer trust the organizations operators or board members to make the best decisions for the animals. We will not be giving any more money to this organization.
I was a large donor. Well into the six figures. I no longer trust the operators or the board. In my experience, there’s lots of behind the scenes flawed decisions that has made me no longer a donor or supporter of this organization. I fully regret the money that I did donate.
Odd Man Inn Animal Refuge is a wonderful home for about 200 farmed animals. We just made our fourth visit to volunteer. It has been a great experience every time because you can jump right in and help...there is always a lot to do. The entire staff and the regular volunteers are very welcoming and helpful. We love to visit with the animals, and we also love visiting the people. Odd Man Inn provides exemplary animal care to their residents and is a completely transparent organization. We are donors also, and I can tell you we are very proud to support Odd Man Inn.
I began supporting Odd Man Inn 7 years ago when I found them on Instagram and started to understand the level of care they give to animals as well as donor dollars and engagement. Several weeks ago Wendy posted about a pair of stray, bonded brother kittens. As you may know, they are a pig sanctuary, but as per usual, they are committed to goodness for all animals in their care. When I went to meet the boys and Wendy, she was kind enough to show me their operation. What they are doing here in TN is incredible in so many ways. A couple of weeks later we met to transfer the boys into my care, and I think all of us are happy about this adoption!
Odd Man Inn provides the highest level of care for their residents on a grand scale. The only sanctuary of its kind for pigs to roam freely on many acres of land, yet supported and watched over to meet all of their needs. The staff are welcoming and eager to show you the daily lives of the residents. Their love and dedication for the organization and for the residents is so very apparent in all they do. I have visited the sanctuary twice and can't wait make a third trip.
We’ve been completely enamored with the work of Josh, Wendy, and the great people at OMI, for a few years now. I was able to visit this summer and wow I was bowled over by the commitment to compassion and respect for life that exudes from this fantastic organization. The tour was exceptional. I would recommend to anybody to please donate to OMI and support this conscious way forward.
I have been a follower of Odd Man Inn for over 2 years, and a Patron on their Patreon for almost as long. Josh and Wendy are an amazingly hard-working, frugal and do it yourself couple who care deeply about saving animals, educating about animals and in so doing helping to save the environment. Their hearts are huge and despite working non-stop they maintain happy, sometimes silly, always heartwarming content on social media.
They go the extra mile and then some for their charges, because everyone deserves it. Recently Josh drove across country to get Jolene (a beautiful pig) a CT scan that was only available on the East Coast. Wendy recently became certified as a Wildlife Rehabilitator because their county had no rehaber and wildlife deserves care too.
Unlike a lot of sanctuaries, Odd Man Inn's mission is not just to house and care for a finite number of animals but to adopt them out to loving homes so they can save even more. I am extremely proud to be one of their supporters.
i learn SO much about the residents AND animal care from this wonderful place. seeing the work they do renews my faith in humanity and i can’t think of a worthier cause i’d rather help.
Odd Man Inn is the most amazing animal sanctuary. Their rescue and adoption efforts are continuous, responsible and educational. Wendy and Josh who run the refuge are wonderful representatives of how we should and should not be treating animals. An example, is when Wendy was earning her wildlife rescue certification. She included her online supporters in the process and we are now learning how small rescued wildlife should be treated while recovering from injuries. They are innovative and groundbreaking when assisting and allowing their animals to live a life of health and dignity. They give their animals and supporters alike a large dose of compassion, humor, reality and love. Supporting their efforts brings joy and light into our world.
Wendy and Josh of Odd Man Inn put their heart and soul into this rescue, and it is absolutely inspiring. They work so hard to ensure all of the animals under their care have a stress free forever home to help them heal from their previous torture and abuse. To see the continuous transformations of these sweet beings is always so heart warming. They give me a reason to keep believing the world is a good place.
Wendy and Josh have created a safe and loving home for the animals that no one else wants. They save animals from the most desperate situations and often in need of critical medical care and give them expert care on limited resources. They make smart, frugal decisions with compassion at the heart of everything they do.
I donate to this wonderful organization because of the love and care and compassion for every single rescue. Even the ones that bite! No matter to OMI, they just love them harder. Wendy is the animal whisperer and Josh is a storyteller. These two together dedicated all they are and all they have to their rescue. I can’t even imagine how they do it or have time to make everyone that helps and gives to them feel good. “Simply The Best”!!! Love Odd Man Inn, Teresita McPherson @maciblue
I have been following OMI on social media from Australia for a while now and was inspired to become a Patreon after learning Melvin’s story. Josh, Wendy and the Animal Care Crew go above and beyond to rescue and rehabilitate any animal lucky enough to cross their path. I look forward to watching this organisation grow to become a template for other sanctuaries to follow. A heartfelt Thankyou for all you do xxxx
The team at Odd Man Inn( Wendy, Josh, and their Animal Care Team) work tirelessly day in, day out, to provide a refuge for animals who would otherwise be overlooked. I am a big fan of the heartwarming work they do with the llamas, pigs, cows, goats, pigeons, dogs, cats, ducks...well, you get the picture... in their care. I donate to their cause monthly, and pick up great fundraising swag when I can. The people who make OMI the special, safe, and loving home it is are truly my heroes.
I follow several wonderful animal rescues and sanctuaries. I honestly don't remember how I first came upon Odd Man Inn, by way of another sanctuary I imagine, but I'm so glad I did. I live way across the country, yet somehow felt an immediate connection with Josh and Wendy from OMI. They represent everything I want to support and be a part of. They are the embodiment of kindness and an impressive example on living your values. I know any small financial contribution I'm able to make, will be utilized to its maximum potential. Not a dime wasted. OMI is tirelessly run by the hardest working people I know of, along with their small army of devoted and ambitious volunteers. OMI not only rescues animals in desperate need, often the most difficult cases, but also engages their local community and thousands of followers around the world. They educate without preaching and encourage compassion. I believe in OMI and all they work so hard to accomplish. Thank you Josh and Wendy for making me feel a part of Odd Man Inn, I'm so proud to stand with you!

PS, did I mention how cute the OMI residents are??? Check them out!
