I have watched the Malawi Project grow from the founders to the fantastic work it is doing today. The founders, Dick and Suzi Stephens, felt called of God to help the impoverished people in Malawi after going on a mission trip to that country. My, how that calling has been blessed by God! What I most admire about the founders is their mission was to not only help Malawians with food, medicine, hospital beds, schools and orphanages, but to train Malawians how to provide for themselves. I give the Malawi Project very high marks, the best of the best.

The Malawi Project is an incredible organization that seeks to help Malawians help themselves. Among the highlights of accomplishments of the Malawi Project are building schools, hospitals ,churches and distribution centers. They provide drip irrigation systems, mobility units, garden tractors, school books, tools and medical supplies. The Malawi Project is a model for Third World Charitable Organizations by having a hands off approach and allowing the Malawi people to be in charge. The Malawi people have done so in a very dutiful and admirable way.
It is an honor to be able to donate to this generous charitable non-profit organization. Rick Conway, Pres, Squire Boone Village, New Albany, Indiana.

Bro. Dick Stephens is a great servant-leader. We met him during the pandemic when we were giving away masks and hand sanitizer. He shared the Malawi Project with us and we have been with him every since. It has been our pleasure to send clothing and household items after the hurricane. Our hearts broke to hear what the expectant mothers have to go through. We not only have all those items at the hospital, but we are sent home with diapers, milk, and coupons for items we may need for our babies. We are currently choosing which project will be our next focus of attention. Thank you for the opportunity to share. May God continue to bless you and continue to bless us so we can bless you.

The Malawi Project is now part of the fabric of our local community connecting us with local volunteers and those volunteering throughout the US. Our church mission committee has enjoyed the shoulder-to-shoulder ministry of the Malawi Project and our church has joined others in helping to provide support to those who have shown the incentive to grow through their own efforts.
I have talked with those who have benefited from the initial help of this ministry and enjoyed hearing how they are now are independent, all due to The Malawi Project.
The productive work of “teaching people to fish” instead of simply “ giving people fish” is lost on many charities. The Malawi Project is a shining example of teaching people how to succeed and then stepping away to enjoy their success.
I’m very proud to be a minuscule contributor alongside those who are of the same mindset..

I have learned so much from the stories of the lives impacted as a direct result of the efforts of the Malawi Project. I appreciate the intentionality of the donated goods that are shipped to Malawi - the focus remains centered on what is needed most so that every dollar donated can have the greatest possible impact. I was fortunate enough to walk through before a shipment was loaded into a container and was in awe of the planning and the hours of work that went into ensuring that every last bit of the container would be utilized. It is evident that those serving are sure of their purpose in helping others.

The volunteers at Malawi Project are extremely passionate and mission-oriented in their every day lives. I know many of the volunteers, and they are constantly promoting and innovating the methods of support for Malawi. I can see how efficient they are with any dollars donated, as the many hours they spend on the phones and in a free-leased warehouse are often unaccounted for in the overall measurement of the program. Most notably, when the Project sponsors an event like a golf outing, the dollars are never going toward luxuries that could otherwise be donated. Their frugality and ingenuity go a long way to inspiring even more generous and creative donations. The leadership of the Project make it easy for others to freely given their time and money, as donors are assured the stewardship is as responsible as the cause is worthy.

In addition to that, I really appreciate the humility with which they lead and work with an in-country non-profit, Action for Progress to make the decisions that best utilize those resources. May God continue to bless, lead and provide for the wonderful program!

The Malawi Project is a ministry that carries out what most non-profits cannot do. Everything they bring in goes to the ministry and the people of Malawi that they proudly serve. In partnership with Action For Progress, a Malawian non-profit that oversees the distribution of all goods shipped into the country, they are helping people across the country of Malawi. Whether it is medical supplies, wheelchairs for the disabled, school books or hand tools for farming, they reach out to all aspects of Malawi life both in the cities and to the remotest villages. But they are also working towards sustainable farming practices and food preservation and storage needs to assure that Malawians are better able to provide for themselves. It is a blessing to partner with the Malawi Project.

The Malawi Project has served the people of Malawi for many years with much needed assistance in the medical field. They have supplied medical equipment, supplies, medicines and other related materials since their beginning of the work in Malawi. That led them to also begin to help with agriculture projects to help in times of famine with much needed relief for starving people. That opened the doors to get school books and other supplies to help with the schools especially in the rural parts of Malawi where a school library was almost non-existent. Today hundreds of schools have books that were provided by the Malawi Project.
Their newest approach in help build famine relief warehouses called Joseph Projects are so needed, as they will aid entire communities and rural villages to prepare for the times of famine and hunger. With so many containers of supplies going into Malawi each year from the Malawi Project, literally all the people in Malawi benefit in some way. Our thanks to the Malawi Project and for all that they do to help the people of Malawi. We are glad to be a donor to this great work and will continue to do so.

I have followed The Malawi Project since its founding by the Stephens in 1999 and know firsthand the passion that these two tireless workers for the Lord have for the people of Malawi. I know most of the board members and meet regularly with one of them to stay close to the Project’s goals and accomplishments and they are many! My wife and I have contributed to this work and we have helped raise funds for the Project. I would, without hesitation, recommend The Malawi Project to anyone seeking a place to target philanthropic giving. I've had the opportunity to learn much more over the last few years about the Malawi project and the broad scope of work they do with, and in support of, the people of Malawi. The growth of this organization and its impact over the last 23 years from a scratch start is truly amazing. Their mission to address basic human needs, but in a way that allows people to develop the ability to help themselves is the key to making their impact sustainable. Guided by Christian principles, powered by a growing list of volunteers, and funded by a broadening base of support, the Malawi Project will continue to change hearts and improve lives for so many in one of the poorest countries of the world.

This is an amazing group of people who selflessly offer their time, energy and resources to give aid to and ease the suffering of the people of Malawi. I first learned about Malawi Project around the time of its inception approximately 25 years ago. Over the years, I've developed a deep respect for Dick and Suzi Stephens whose love for and dedication to the Malawi people gave birth to the organization. Food, irrigation systems, a hospital and medical supplies have been provided, along with lots of love and care.

What I appreciate most about Malawi Project is that (unlike some charities) they walk alongside the people they serve, living among them — even sometimes at their own peril, facing disease and tremendous hardship without complaint. Their focus always has been to not simply give handouts to a needy people, but to help Malawians become independent and self-sustaining for the long term. This is very worthy cause.

They simply provide knowledge and resources and the people of Malawi do the rest. They are so dedicated and hardworking to the point it leaves me speechless. This charity makes a huge difference! When citizens of Malawi wait at the airport by the hundreds /thousands for leaders of this project to arrive in Malawi, you know the Malawi Project is highly respected and making a difference. When Malawians say that no other group on the planet (besides one other country) has helped Malawi like The Malawi Project, it's time to take notice. So, we did!

Our church building is 2 blocks from Mayo Clinic, where people come from all over the world to find answers to health challenges. We are blessed to be able to do our small part to help! We have also chosen to help one of the poorest countries in the world - Malawi. Our children have adopted Malawi as their mission project. So, they donate part of their allowances each Sunday to the Malawi Project, Inc. We then go shopping together to make purchases for Malawi. We've collected clothing, school supplies, work gloves, tools, and made handmade quilts. We are committed to growing in our support for these beautiful people.

Malawi Project has been a blessing from God to the people of Malawi for many years providing: housing and food for the orphans, medical supplies to hospitals, special wheel chairs for the handicapped, and modified farm equipment for the farmers. In addition, 2019 is very special. The Distribution Center is being completed that will help the farmers store their crops. This will reduce crop losses as well as help minimize the impact of droughts and floods. Also, 2019 is the year that Malawi Project partners with a not-for- profit called Action for Progress that is run by Malawians. This is an important transition that enables Malawians to help each other.

As it was so easy to give, people I know rounded up many and sent them to Indianapolis! I soon saw the reports and photos of Malawians with the bottles in their hands. I got the bug! What else can I send to human beings that I have too much of?! I saw the call for hand tools and I did a collection. This time, my husband and I drove to Indianapolis and met Dick and Suzi. Well. They are what I would call the real deal. They are Christians who don't shy away from any discomfort in order to do what they can as humanitarians in Malawi. They are humble people who I trust. As a woman who's plan was to homebirth their first child with the presence of a midwife, even I was startled by the fact that these women have to labor and deliver all alone with no one to help them, or in a facility where tools are rusty, broken, and unsterile. So when they're simple requests were for a razor blade to cut the umbilical cord, a onesie, Hat, and blanket for the baby, for a bed pad to keep the blood and fluids sanitary and for easy disposal, I was moved at the simplicity of their request. These relatively inexpensive and common items can make such a big difference during one of the most important events in a woman's life emotionally, spirituality, and physically. This is just one amazingly simple way to show the love of Christ. Blessings to you all who make the Malawi Project a success.

Great nonprofit the truly cares about the people of Malawi. Their latest endeavor to collect pill bottles for the hospitals of Malawi has truly gone viral through social media. The Malawi project should be able to single handedly provided enough pill containers for every hospital to stop dispensing in napkins. What a heart this group has for other people. Proud to be a donor and volunteer.

A good organization starts with people and you won't find better people than Dick and Suzie Stephens. Dick and Suzie have had a tremendous impact on our family and marriage. As someone who helps them with their house and bills while they are gone every summer, I can personally attest to the fact that they have made this their life's ambition to help other people. Every dollar that is donated is poured into the life of a Malawian. This organization works because it is based on solid Christian principles and it was started from the ground up as a grassroots organization. I challenge you to inspect other organizations that are using 30-40 cents on the dollar for infrastructure and then give your money to a small nonprofit like the Malawi project that is working to use every cent to help others in need.

The Malawi Project is an exemplary organization -- a mission model for assistance programs. It's volunteers and donated resources are used to partner with and mentor the Malawi people, to equip them as they work with them to become self-reliant. Their emphasis is "caring for" rather than "caretaking." We met Richard and Suzi Stephens seven years ago, who through their character and information about the Project, made lasting impressions on us. Our congregation has since participated in various assistance projects, including sending a young couple to Malawi for a short mission trip.

We have been aware and have supported this project off and on for over ten years. The things that have been accomplished, hospital, orphanage, nutritious meal production, etc., only begin to demonstrate the impact made on the people of Malawi. Dick and Suzi Stephens, along with so many others, have done amazing work. This is a most worthy endeavor.

The Malawi Project has done so many wonderful things for so many needy people! When I donate, I know that my money is going to a good cause: wheelchairs, hospital building and supplies , food, etc . I highly recommend this organization.

I have had the immense pleasure of knowing Dick and Suzi Stephens for several years now as one of their health care providers and I am ceaselessly impressed with their devotion to the Malawi Project. They have personally helped me with transporting equipment donations from my office to Malawi and they have been extremely grateful with each donation. I have enjoyed learning about the culture and conditions of Malawi through their exceptional publications. This is a top notch, extremely well-operated organization that is worthy of your attention and donations. Dick and Suzi are truly heroes to me and I hope that I may one day emulate their kindness in deed, service, and gratitude.

The Malawi Project is an amazing organization that is able to act as a catalyst to increase the impact from each dollar given. The Malawi Project doesn't own any infrastructure within Malawi, but encourages local ownership and independence and self sufficiency.
The Malawi Project doesn't just focus on one issue or problem and is one of the reasons why I think my donation is able to make the most impact in one of the poorest countries in the world.
Most importantly, I know that my donation is used to show the love of Jesus to those in need.

It's been a bless to be able to support this great ministry! I first heard of this project from one of our friends in the church, and he has been supporting Dick and Suzi for a long time. I remember the first time I have heard about the kids there in Malawi and how their lives are, I couldn't help but break into tears. They have been making good use of the fund for those kids and for God. It's my pleasure to recommend this ministry to anyone who is interested.

After Dick and Suzi visited our congregation in 2012 and informed us of various needs in Malawi, one of our families set about to engineer a drive to send textbooks and laptops to students in that African country. With the Austin school district donating some 34,000 textbooks, the church raised the funds ($37,000) to ship the books to Malawi. The drive also led to the donation of about 100 used laptops, which were refurbished for shipment to Malawi.

Dick and Suzi encouraged some of our members to travel to Malawi and see, first-hand, how these resources were being used. Six of our members made the journey in the summer of 2013, taking with us medical supplies to distribute among clinics and hospitals. We returned to the U. S. with several thousand completed Bible correspondence courses for processing by a team here in Austin.

Our team returned with something more as well--a deep affection for the kind and appreciative people of Malawi. Dick and Suzi meticulously arranged our 15-day sojourn within Malawi and accompanied us every step of the way. We interacted daily with a variety of folks, from faculty and students at a pair of preaching training schools to medical administrators and members of a number of churches in the country. We made optimal use of our time, distributing resources while witnessing firsthand the impact that textbooks, laptops, "baby packs," and medical supplies had with the people of Malawi. The team also had time to interact with the fascinating wildlife that help make the country so attractive to guests.

It is obvious that Dick and Suzi's work has had an indelible impact on the country--and its leadership. Countless people, and evangelistic efforts, have been helped through their tireless efforts to see that as many needs of the people as possible are addressed. They understand the people, and their personal interest in the well-being of Malawians--both medical and spiritual--is on display at every turn.

The Malawi Project was born out of love and compassion for the people of Malawi in the hearts of Dick and Suzi Stephens. I have known Suzi and Dick for over 25 years. Suzi and I worked together as nurses at an Indianapolis Hospital. While I am still there, she and Dick are being used for a greater good in the nation of Malawi. With hands-on help from the people themselves and with the expertise, guidance, and support of folks who care in the USA, lives are being changed and the entire country is benefiting in an amazing way. Malawians are a sweet people and many are personally involved in effecting positive change through the Malawi Project. There have been great accomplishments and there are more needs to be met. Read about what the Malawi Project is doing and hopes to do. You will fall in love with the people and will want to be an encouragement to them. Suzi and Dick are amazing in the sacrifices they have made over the years for this work. Their hearts and lives have been totally focused on this work and they have surrounded themselves with an awesome group of individuals that share the vision and the hope for the people of Malawi! They are reviving hope in the hearts of the people themselves. I cannot say enough! A very worthy cause!

I learned about the Malawi Project about five years ago through Dick and Suzie Stephens. We found it to be a well run organization providing many opportunities for Churches to make donations to the country of Malawi, its children, and hospitals.

Having worked with the Malawi Project Inc. for nearly 10 years, I can honestly say that they are doing great work in Malawi. Not only do they provide lifesaving food, medicines, medical supplies and basic necessities, they also are teaching thousands of individuals to be self sufficient. I have traveled to Malawi and visited their programs, and as I was flying home, I realized I was a changed person. The love and compassion shown by everyone associated with the Malawi Project touched my heart and renewed a fire in my soul. I knew then that I wanted to continue working to help those less fortunate. Their water projects, gardening projects, entrepreneur projects, educational projects and support of hospitals have impacted countless numbers of lives. Every individual receiving assistance is treated with respect and all donations are handled with honesty and integrity. I am proud to be a partner with this organization.

My experience with the Malawi Project Inc. over the past ten years has been totally positive. The dedication, sacrifice, long suffering and integrity of this charity is proven in the results of millions of less fortunate Malawi people being fed, clothed, healed, educated and given hope for a brighter future for them and their country. The Malawi Project truly sees each Malawi person as an individual put on this earth for a special purpose and having the right to live with dignity within his or her own land. The amazing follow up on all donations and accountability to each donor and sponsor has made all involved feel very much a part of their mission in a personal way. Although I have had opportunities to work with other charities in helping the need in Malawi, The Malawi Project Inc. has proven to be the most reliable and gratifying in seeing our donated resources being used to the best end result.
