I support Blood:Water because they are an organization that doesn't seek to provide band-aid solutions to big problems by outsiders. They work directly with members from the communities they serve, a.k.a partners, that have a grasp on the needs of the people they're trying to impact. Partners are trained and given the funding/tools they need to be able to make their vision for their community a reality. Ownership and empowerment of the people is what sustains the programs created. I believe this is a powerful model that more organizations should model after. This organization has taught me that Africa already has the heroes it needs living among them. Blood:Water Mission just walks alongside them. I'm a community builder and donate monthly because I want to be part of the story that empowers heroes to realize their full potential, even if my part in it, is that of an outsider looking in.
Blood Water is an amazing charity dedicated to saving lives through clean water. The people who run the organization care deeply about the mission and the money is well spent.
This is an amazing organization that brings clean water and HIV/AIDS support to communities around the world. A few years ago, I did a read-a-thon and was able to donate more than $5000 to the organization. The staff that I worked with during my read-a-thon was superb, and reinforced to me that they are doing great work.
