Of great interest to me is ACT's current work with isolated indigenous groups, particularly the Colombian Government's commitment to expand the borders of a national park (inhabited by such "uncontacted" tribes) to larger than the size of the state of Massachusetts.
As an intense and highly innovative organization with powerful impact, ACT partners with the people who live in (and around) the rainforest to map, manage and protect the Amazon area, conserve its biodiversity and strengthen its peoples and their traditional cultures. Donor contributions go directly to the programs, which benefit environmental conservation and climate control, medicine, health & wellness, women's, educational and cultural issues.
Both small and large donations have an immediate and meaningful impact on a global scale and on individual people's lives. You can contribute to one issue or a multitude of global issues at once!
As a board member for the last 7 years, I only have praise for the work that Amazon Conservation Team has been able to accomplish during the past 17 years. Its mission is to partner with and empower marginalized forest people in South America. ACT’s unique ability to help these indigenous people protect their rainforests, culture, ecological knowledge, and healing genius is recognized worldwide.
