A colleague where I work has a child who attends the Alpine Learning Group. When I heard about the program and how each child was cared for by ALG on an almost one to one basis all year long, I was touched by the obvious level of commitment the staff and parents have toward meeting the needs of the children who are in the program. When I heard about the costs associated with providing this level of care, I immediately came up with an idea for a fundraising event I could help pull together. After suggesting the idea, the leadership at ALG took the ball and ran with it. We ultimately threw an amazing authentic Kansas City style barbeque that raised a significant amount of money for the school. I'm glad i was able to help and I was glad I chose ALG to support. Since I only do 1 or 2 events a year for charity, I have to carefully select the cause I want to help. After working with the staff at ALG, the parents and volunteers and after spending some time with the kids during the event, I left not only feeling really good about donating my time and but I also felt welcomed as a new meber of the ALG family.
The Alpine Learning Group's services are unparalleled. Their dedication to one on one training for all students and their involvement with the families shows their true dedication to helping those with Autism. The school's constant growth and outreach in the community serving young children in the outreach program all the way through adults is amazing. All the funds raised are always going directly to enhancing things for the students - the buildings, the property, the supplies, training for teachers and more. I always feel confident that each dollar I've donated is really helping a child.
Alpine Learning Group is an amazing organization that has served the autism community for over 20 years. I am proud to support the students, families, staff and volunteers of Alpine because without the bravery and commitment of the founders and the tenacity of the teachers, children with autism would have very few options. They led the way when noone else would and provided the foundation for schools here in the US as well as helping to establish programs in Italy, Kosovo and Canada. The leadership of Alpine Learning Group in the field of autism education has impacted the lives of hundreds of families who are in need of guidance as they face the daily and life long challenges of autism. My favorite story was told to me by a parent who overheard someone saying that children with autism can't learn to ride a bike. Her response was "Well they are riding bikes at Alpine." Nothing is impossible for children and adults with autism, because at Alpine, they have the knowledge, expertise, tools and heart to make the impossible, possible.
I am a new donor to Alpine Learning Group. I am in awe of the dedication of the founders, the board members, the parents, and the fantastic staff who educate the Alpine learners, with passion, commitment, humor, patience and love. It is simply amazing to see and I feel extremely privileged to be part of it.
