I have volunteered at this organization for 10 years now. This young man continues to impress me with his dedication to service of others. He does a great job training service dogs for US Military Veterans. He is passionate about his community and continues to do a coat drive for the local elementary school.
Impressive from start to finish. I was aware of 1Boy4Change & his warrior beads long before becoming acquainted with the people behind the beads. Having several health challenges of my own, I saw people from all over the country (via social media support groups) excited to receive their beads. A patients journey is long, isolating and filled with procedures the healthy world has never even heard of. The beads represent our battle, not a count of the pain endured, but of the battles won, one procedure at a time, with different colors beads representing various tests/ procedures. It's a score card that shows us we have been through hell & back, and we are still fighting; a reminder that we have come so far and today is not the day to give up. Such a simple idea, such a meaningful impact made more special by the fact your package of color specific beads are put together by a young man who is legally blind. When most adults would give up, this young man& his mom are giving back in a meaningful way. Your donations go exactly where they say it will.... I'd encourage everyone to give to this effort. As a professional grant maker, I wish I saw more non profits doing so much with this level of integrity.
