This rescue puts the parrots first and foremost in all they do! Training and educating people on proper care and enrichment needs of these beautiful animals. The adoption policy is easy to navigate and they are not a pet shop. I have 4 beautiful birds at my house that all fit well in our lives because I took the time to get to know the birds and they did not have to go home with a stranger to a strange home!!!

I believe the rescue's "practice" is questionable. They insist as a charity that they have limited resources to feed, house, or extend veteranary assistance to animals in need, but they also refuse to adopt out to willing parents under the condition that they need to volunteer or give money regardless of adoption. I'm happy for them that they employ many kids and reach out to the community through the next generation. However, all birds continue to bite, scream, and abuse their handlers with zero proactive measure to discipline or teach birds to remove this habit.

Is this truly a rescue, or is it someone who is hoarding birds and asking for a handout?

The purpose of this rescue should be to adopt out birds. Otherwise they fill up and cannot accept new birds. They also constantly beg for more money to keep their flock fed. This place is nearly impossible to adopt a bird from . They hate adoption. You have to live within 125 miles, have a pre and post adoption inspection, pay a fee, fill out a pile of paper work. Then you have to volunteer for months until the "BIRD LIKES YOU." Birds sometimes take a while to warm up to new people. That time is extended if the bird has lots of people it deals with every week. This is the wrong approach. This rescue is adding to the unwanted bird population by sending prospective owners back to breeders. Very sad.
