Mission: YOUTHanasia Foundation, Inc., founded in 1997, was established at a time when teenagers were dying daily. Thus, the organization's ironic name was coined marking the eradication of contributing factors to youth deaths - illiteracy, violence, ignorance, and a lack of recreational venues. YOUTHanasia provides a forum for high school students to meet weekly. The students create and implement community service projects to combat problems they identify in the community. Thus, the foundation educates high school students about community involvement while keeping them off of the streets and out of trouble. YOUTHanasia Foundation's goal is to take as many high school students as possible off of the streets and out of harm's way. By preserving our youth, YOUTHanasia is helping to preserve the successful future of New Orleans.
