Programs: Youth Haven is Southwest Florida's only residential and emergency shelter for children and teens aged 6-18 who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment. The shelter's 73 licensed beds are available 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Children in need stay at the shelter an average of 201 days, depending on their age and circumstance, until a permanent solution can be found. Youth Haven's therapeutic campus provides protection from immediate and present dangers at home, and focuses on comprehensive care, including: housing, nutritious meals, clothing, educational support & tutoring, life skills training, medical care, mental health care & counseling, dental care, art, yoga, and more. In addition to the Emergency Shelter, Youth Haven provides counseling, certified play therapy and certified animal-assisted therapy services to children through its Counseling Center; and teen housing, case management, and drop-in services through its Homeless Teen & Transitional Living Youth Program.
