Mission: As an affiliate of the ywca of the usa, the organization is dedicated to eliminating racism and empowering women by providing programs and sevices that benefit women and their families.
Programs: Head start - the organization provides early childhood education to children ages 3 to 5 years who come from low-income households. Children in the program benefit from ongoing relationships with caring adults and are provided with nutritional meals and snacks. The program is designed to encourage creativity and an excitement for learning. The goal of the head start program is to prepare young children for their future learning. The organization services over 700 children and their families through this program.
child and adult care food program (cacfp) - cacfp provides federal funds to nonresidential child care facilities to serve nutritious meals and snacks. The goal of the cacfp is to improve and maintain the health and nutritional status of children in care while promoting development of good eating habits.
great start readiness program (gsrp) - gsrp provides preschool programs for four year old children who may be "at risk" of school failure. There is no cost to families, but enrolled children must qualify for the program. All programs must provide strong family involvement and parent education components as well as preschool education.
