Mission: Developing programs to help women and children in need of services for homelessness, life skills and money management.
Programs: The ywca provides counseling to women who are victims of crime, specifically women experiencing trauma and older women (over 65). These services are offered free of charge and are funded by crime victim assistance funds.
the lead program is a leadership development program that works with teen girls in a variety of locations including schools, community centers, human services programs and public libraries. Some of the goals of the program are leadership development, healthy behaviors, communication skills, and career planning.
the parenting program works with mothers in low income areas to help improve their parenting skills. The program is focused on public housing, head start programs and with court-ordered parents.
the ywca also offers programs for elderly victims of abuse or neglect, dialogues on race and outreach to homeless individuals.
