Mission: The stamford family ymca is a community service, nonprofit organization committed to programs that strengthen the spirit, mind and body for all.
Programs: Youth programs: summer camp, youth services, lead, & swim team summer camp: during the summer of 2017, camp had a roster of approximately 375 participants. Camp runs monday through friday 9 a. M. To 4 p. M. For children in grades k-8. Activities at camp include field trips, swimming lessons, arts & crafts and dance lessons. Qualified staff consists of ymca professionals, certified lifeguards/swim instructors and college graduates. All staff have experience working in day camps and conduct the stamford family ymca day camp program with a commitment to excellence.
adult fitness and social programs: membership/physical, healthy living, & general aquatics. The stamford family ymca offers programs for adult members that include fitness classes such as kickboxing, yoga, pilates, zumba. These classes are intended to provide members with the ultimate opportunity of strengthening their minds and bodies by staying active and phyisically fit. During the fy ended june 30, 2017 the stamford family had over 2,000 members and approximately 325 fitness class members. Additionally, there were over 300 basketball and flag football league participants and 35 swim team participants. There were approximately 500 k-12 students enrolled in the ymca after school programs. All lead high school afternoon school programs participants graduate from high school and attend either a 2 or 4 year college. 72% of our graduates maintained a 3. 0 grade point average.
