Programs: As a 36 year old non profit arts organization we seek to promote and encourage interest and participation in the arts and humanities with our residents. Our work includes, but is not limited to: arts in education, multi-cultural arts, cultural tourism and economic development, local arts marketing, art exhibitions, concerts and poetry. Our work is embedded in encouraging residents and tourists to support artists, art and cultural institutions and agriculture in our county. For the fiscal year 2016-17 yoloarts provided arts and arts engagement programs and services to the residents of yolo county including:- presenting 10 gallery 625 exhibitions for 121 artists to show and sell their work - connecting 375 artists with 9 farmers through the art & ag project- presenting 4 master artist workshops for 30 military veterans and 43 community participants on 2 farms owned by veterans- producing 6 arts marketing workshops presented by 11 industry professionals, serving 125 artists- building on the success of the art & ag project, the artful plate project - commissioned an original work of art from 1 local artist that was reproduced on dinner plates, 65 sold at farm to table dinner supporting a local non profit- providing public art administrative services to the county of yolo, resulting in 1 artist commission- partnering with local hospital to provide curatorial and collection management services- engaging 10 teaching artists in schools working with 2,454 students in davis, esparto, west sacramento and woodland- providing oversight on the installation of two student created ceramic murals at 2 schools- engaging 70 homeless in arts workshops with 4 teaching artists in davis, west sacramento and woodland we believe our work as your state-local partner and lead art agency continues to be one of the primary strategies for effectively supporting and strengthening yolo county through the arts and creativity.
