Mission: The Yellow Brick Road Project (YBR) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 1995 to enable women who have experienced domestic violence and abuse to become financially and emotionally independent.YBR believes that three things need to happen simultaneously for a women to become free and stay free long term of an abusive situation: 1) financial independence from the abuser; 2) development/relearning the ability to trust and use a support system; and 3) addressing responses and behaviors learned during the abusive situation that were survival mechanisms, but which now sabotage efforts to move forward beyond the abuse.
