Causes: Children & Youth, Youth Development Programs
Mission: Young, Black and Suburban Kids is dedicated to teaching young people cultural history, life skills, and ways to empower them for a better future.
Results: YBS Kids was able to thrive during the global pandemic of 2020 by these accomplishments: 1. Our organization’s member retention rate is 90 percent. 2. Our annual donation has a 60% growth rate. 3. Established 2 new corporate donors. 4. Recipient of local community grants. 5. Expanded our community engagement in Plano Title Schools 6. Served disadvantage children and youth in the City of Plano.
Target demographics: Our vision is to inspire children to become whom they want to be, but more importantly, influence self-confidence and pride. By empowering our young children and youth this way, we empower our communities.
Direct beneficiaries per year: middle and high school students , feed the children in need, meals for first responders and veterans.
Geographic areas served: Plano, TX
Programs: YBS Kids focuses on the positive exposure, exploration, and skill-building possibilities of African-American children and youth from all social-economic communities in North Texas. - Black History - Cultural Awareness - Financial Literacy - Job Readiness - Volunteer & Community Service
