Programs: Medical services - ynhs was the health care home for over 22,784 infants, children, adults and seniors last year, as the primary health provider of services. Agency staff focused on primary and preventive care that lowers the overall potential cost of health care and reduces the risk of chronic and long term disease. 80% of primary care patients had incomes below 100% of the federal poverty level ($24,600 for a family of 4), and over 3,500 individuals were uninsured, low income residents of yakima county.
dental services - ynhs staff provided more than 23,000 dental visits to low income and underserved residents of yakima county in 2017. Ynhs provides comprehensive dental care out of three locations throughout yakima county, increasing access for uninsured and medicaid residents who have gone without dental care for many years. Last year, one in four adults seen by ynhs dental providers were uninsured; the ynhs health care for the homeless dental clinic provided care to over 1,158 homeless patients (3,487 visits).
housing - ynhs staff provide emergency winter weather shelter during the coldest part of the year, working with local churches and volunteers. Last year the organization and the community served 106 unduplicated (unsheltered) individuals, providing over 1,311 bed nights and meals, food, fresh clothing and basic hygiene supplies to protect our most vulnerable from the elements of winter. Year-round, ynhs staff provided permanent supportive housing for more than 106 individuals and families leaving homelessness and working toward self-sufficiency. In addition, our staff provide medical recuperative care through six apartment-style units for homeless individuals who are ill/injured but not enough for hospital care, and those being hospital discharged and not well enough to return to the streets.
other clinic operations - various preventive family health services targeted at children of low income families.
