Mission: The mission of wrc health care support services is to provide choices for generations. Built on a not-for-profit foundation of caring, the organization offers residential and personal care, home and community-based services, skilled and rehabilitative health care.
Programs: Wrc health care support services provided in home care to approximately 300 senior clients in clarion, jefferson, clearfield, elk and armstrong counties during the fiscal year. During fiscal year 2015, wrc health care support services held several education sessions on various health topics including breast cancer, diabetes, healthy aging. The organization also provided free blood pressure and vital sign checks to over 500 individuals. Wrc and related tax exempt entities provided $519,803 in charity care during the year. During fiscal year 2015, wrc health care support services started a hospice program. Hospice is specialized care for individuals with a life-limiting illness or injury, who have six months or less to live, and their families. Hospice services involves medical care to manage pain and symptoms, as well as emotional and spiritual support through the end of life journey. Hospice care can be provided in a patient's own home, a hospital, personal care home or skilled nursing community. The goal of hospice care is to allow for a peaceful passing in a comfortable and familiar setting with loved ones near. Hospice is a holistic approach, addressing not only physical needs, but emotional, social and spiritual needs as well. An interdisciplinary team of a physician, nurses, therapists, chaplain, social worker, aides and volunteers work together to provide hospice services.
