Mission: World hunger relief, inc. (whr), a christian based organization, is committed to the alleviation of hunger around the world. Whr achieves this by training agricultural interns and live-in volunteers for sustainable and holistic missions, providing educational opportunities to the citizens of central texas and services through world hunger relief-haiti and other international organizations.
Programs: Training of agricultural interns and live-in volunteers in sustainable agriculture, community development and holistic mission approaches. Training includes providing room and board, formal class, running a small diversified livestock herd and running vegetable farming business as a hand-on classroom.
supporting functions of world hunger relief-haiti, including a haitian primary school, well drilling services and technical and finacial support to rice farmers. Providing consulting services for groups in el salvador, haiti and liberia.
providing learning experiences for participants in the central texas area. Programs include school tours, rural poverty simulations for church and college groups, service learning opportunities and community education programs on gardening and other subjects. Urban gardening activities include promoting and staffing garden clubs from area schools and sponsorhsip of an mlk day of service which attracted people to volunteer at local school and church gardens.
