Provide opportunities for younger and emerging leaders from international alliances to receive training, work experience, and network with other leaders from around the world. Bible translation guidelines, expenses $22,596. The wea divine familial terms oversight group met in december 2016 to work on the report to a bible publisher concerning ongoing compliance with the wea panel report on theologically acceptable translation of the divine familial terms (the words for "god the father and the "son of god"), particularly in muslim contexts. Other initiatives, expenses $198,405 with grants of $150,409 and revenue of $5,430. The organization was involved in various other initiatives during the past year; the most significant were grants to support the church in pakistan, human trafficking work in india, africa building project in kenya, korea flood relief. Expenses also included costs of having the annual international leadership meeting and work done on developing the organization's national and regional alliances.
mission commission:the wea mission commission is a missional network of hundreds of mission leaders around the globe, promoting fellowship, mutual learning, training and cooperation. Year 2017 was mostly a transition of leadership process, david ruiz the new executive director was in a process of transition from his former job to part time executive director. During this year the new leadership team was identified, convened and affirmed to join the executive director in this new period of time. The mission commission leadership also participated in the international leadership forum in germany, represented the commission into another important meetings of the global christian forum in ghana, as well as part of the senior leadership team and the sftf. National mission movements were visited in latin america, africa and europe to continue serving and strengthening relationship with the mission commission.
theological commission:the theological commission serves as a prophetic evangelical voice that is globally representative, faithful to scripture, theologically informed and speaking with clarity and relevance to the church and the world.

The wea religious liberty commission seeks to promote freedom of religion for all people worldwide as defined by article 18 of the united nations declaration on human rights, and in accordance with scripture. The commission aims to help all people, especially protestant christians, to exercise their faith without oppression or discrimination and seeks to protect the freedom of evangelicals. During the past 12 months, the rlc advocated for religious freedoms with governments and international institutions including the un and the us state department, securing greater freedoms for religious minorities around the world. Moreover, during this period, the rlc trained and equipped christian leaders in restricted countries such as kenya, bhutan, india, cambodia and morocco on human rights advocacy, religious freedom, and coping strategies for persecution. Still more, the rlc also worked closely with refugees fleeing persecution in conflict nations, assisting them with relief, advocacy and relocation. Commission on women's concerns, expenses $2,912. The commission is a network of women seeking to identify and address the unique needs of women around the world. The information technology commission, supported entirely by contributed services, seeks to create a global digital infrastructure to build modern-day networks and systems effective in providing a digital forum to help increase effectiveness in communication, exchange of information, and promotion of partnership and collaboration among christians and ministries on the web. Program staff support, expenses $91,730. Program staff support includes direct administrative support and oversight to each of wea's programs, bringing cohesion to these programs in support of the mission of wea.
