Mission: Women’s Campaign International (WCI) provides trauma-informed programs for girls and women to empower their lives and communities by taking on active leadership roles.
Programs: Youth leadership - now in its 9th year, the girls advocacy and leadership series (gals), offers a unique opportunity for underserved philadelphia girls to develop leadership skills and create advocacy campaigns that have a positive impact on their communities. The gals program aims to fill the gender and education gap by providing high school girls with personal and professional skills. 100% of gals participants reported an improvement in their public speaking skills. 70% of participants reported an improvement in planning action steps to achieve a goal. 65% were more capable of engaging others in discussion about community issues through persuasive speech and confident tone
peacebuilding and conflict mitigation - wci conducts trainings and media campaigns to enhance the advocacy and leadership skills of women leaders, and promote the importance of their participation in the peace process. Wci completed implementing a program in timor-leste to promote peace through trainings in economic empowerment, conflict prevention and mitigation skills trainings. Wci used community theater productions at public markets to foster community engagement, reaching audiences of over 2,400 people.
legal literacy and advocacy - wci provides women with the tools and seminars they need to understand their legal rights. Wci worked in malawi to promote legal literacy and build up women's leadership skills and ability to advocate for their rights. Wci used community theater productions at public markets to foster community engagement and bring awareness to issues such as women's legal and economic rights and gender based violence (gbv), reaching over 500 individuals.
