Mission: Widgb offers a variety of programs, services and opportunities for volunteer involvement. Members help one another develop and improve professional skills, share information about employment opportunities, and foster a climate which promotes professional achievement.
Programs: In november 2016, women in development of greater boston ("widgb") kicked off its 37th year with the first of two keynote programs for the year. In total 193 members and 81 non-members attended these programs during the year. Topics were all designed to enhance different areas of knowledge for women who work in fundraising/development in a variety of non-profit organizations in the community. In addition to the keynote events, widgb also sponsored six brown bag programs attended by 491 widgb members and 363 non-members. These programs are designed to enhance different types of fundraising skills of those who attend. There was one member only networking event attended by 33 members. The member services committee also sponsored two new member breakfast programs formally welcoming 80 new members to widgb. Widgb concluded their year with the widgb annual meeting in june 2017.
