Mission: Women Against Abusive Relationships (WAAR) empowers individuals and families to break the cycle of domestic violence through education, advocacy, and trauma-informed support. Through innovative programs like Parents R Protectors, we equip caregivers with the tools to prevent abuse and foster protective, resilient families and communities. Our mission is to "Break the Cycle" of violence against women and girls and aid their healing process.
Results: To date we have served over 3500 women and teens in Allegheny County,
Target demographics: survivors traumatized by domestic violence to reclaim their lives
Direct beneficiaries per year: 83 women and four organizations
Geographic areas served: Allegheny County in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and online
Programs: financial literacy, parenting, "ArtShops," Microsoft 365, CPR, and more.
