We are sincerely grateful to the Wolfeboro staff; counselors and teachers for their support and guidance afforded to my 16 year old son and 13 year old daughter to ensure an enriching experience.
Thanks to Wolfeboro’s team-based and inclusive approach to ensure student wellness, not only did my children thrive academically and personally, they also established meaningful relationships with many of the Wolfeboro staff and of course, fellow Wolfeboro students.
My daughter was melancholy for days following her return from Wolfeboro, and she has stated more than once that she wants to return to Wolfeboro next summer; a testament to the quality of the staff and their time-tested means of connecting with students!
The routine from morning to evening, including academics, intramural activities and arts, along with limited phone time, was critical to my children’s success!
I would strongly advise anyone against either attending this place or sending their children here. It is grim, sometimes brutal to young people and, 30 years after getting away from it, I still have nightmares about the summer I spent in this hellhole. Academics are okay. The rest of the program is more like a reform school and is intended to be punitive and often cruel. My experience was typical: I had a book thrown hard in my face leaving a red mark that lasted for days by a teacher who didn't like the fact I was roughly 30 seconds late and was hit in the torso by a staff member after I complained that I was being denied OTC remedies for a cold. If you are a parent thinking of sending your child here, consider if you want to damage your relationship with your children forever and leave your child emotionally damaged him or herself. That was my experience and some other reviews online show similar ones. If you are a student who might be forced to go here, please show this review to your parents and ask them to reconsider.
