Mission: Our mission is to promote the role of women in the government through scholarships, networking, education, and mentoring.
Programs: The wisconsin women in government scholars program is designed to inspire women to consider careers in public service, public administration, and government affairs. Each year wisconsin women in government awards scholarships to women pursuing undergraduate and post-graduate study at any wisconsin institution of higher education. Scholarships are alose provided for young women to attend badger girls state and to the student elected governor.
wisconsin women in government works in cooperation with the lafollette school of public affairs at the university of wisconsin-madison to offer the women in government graduate seminar. The program is designed to emphasize the skills for high-level managers, management techniques, effective networks and strategies to achieve professional success.
wisconsin women in government's one-day leadership seminars focus on creating a more optimal work life balance. Participants learn how to navigate within their organization as well as tips for better communciation, time management, networking, team building, and negotiation. Women at all stages of their carreers are encouraged to participate.
