Wingspan is a special organization. My brother is a resident living in a group home owned and operated by this amazing group of skilled and caring staff. The support and vigilance for the health and safety of each resident during the pandemic gave me such comfort. Since then, even with the staffing shortages, the Executive Director and Board of Directors have increased salaries and made sure staff are compensated for their dedication and hard work. The integrity of everyone involved with Wingspan has surpassed my wildest dreams of a safe and loving home for my brother Johnny. Thank you to everyone. Taree Leach-Junkersfeld

Programs: Wingspan life resources 2 tsev laus kaj siab program is a licensed, culturally specific adult day program that serves approximately 40 hmong elders and disabled persons who are isolated and at risk of nursing home placement. The name "tsev laus kaj siab" refers to a place for elders where there is freedom from tension, stress and worry. The program also supports family caregivers who may need to work during the day. Knowing there is a safe place for their older loved one to receive support for their physical, emotional and cultural wellbeing is a comfort. The tsev laus kaj siab program is staffed by individuals with hmong language and cultural expertise. The focus of the program is to support hmong elders in overcoming barriers to health care and social services, and to enhance their ability to understand and participate more fully in life in the united states, while honoring their traditional values and practices. Services include:" assistance with transportation" adult education" emotional support and socialization" assistance with paperwork" support in accessing resources to attain citizenship status" outings, field trips and shopping" cultural celebrations" assistance with medical appointments" assistance with health issues" opportunities for gardening" food that is specific to the nutritional needs and preferences of the elders.
