Wings of Love Inc has been serving the Greater Springfield, MA area since 2004 through various volunteer activities. They are 100% Volunteer based, and a 501 (C )3 tax exempt organization in the Commonwealth of MA.
I have been involved with their Bear With Me project, which provides new stuffed animals to area emergency responders. When law enforcement officers or emergency care providers encounter an emergency situation involving a child, they are able to present this child with a new huggable stuffed animal, which brings comfort and a connection to the responder. Over 7,000 have been provided through donations the past 9 years.
Officers have used these in situations involving children such as domestic abuse, accidents, fires, witnesses of arrests, and any traumatic situations encountered.
