Mission: Winged Hope was established in January 2013 by Jessica Nicely. As a child abuse survivor and a child abuse prevention advocate for 18 years, Jessica was feeling frustrated about the number of cases of child abuse going un-prosecuted. After learning about the effectiveness of Child and Family Advocacy Centers, Jessica established Winged Hope Family Advocacy Foundation. Winged Hope's programs focus on Child Abuse and Domestic Violence Awareness, Prevention and Treatment. We help existing Family Advocacy Centers and help start-up new Family Advocacy Centers around Arizona. We have reached thousands of victims and survivors around Arizona. We believe in collaborating with other non-profits, government agencies and the community at large, to help spread our message of hope, and provide services to all who need us. With no paid staff, Winged Hope operates with an all-volunteer board, youth advisory board members, victim advocates, and countless more volunteers.
Results: Winged Hope has provided training and/or services to over 48,000 people around Arizona. 17,125 women around the state have been reached with our Domestic Violence program. 2,552 victims have been reached through our direct victim services (tracked since June 2016). 7,789 students, parents and teachers have been educated through our anti-bullying and cyber safety programs. 8,550 students, parents and teachers have been reached with our Child Abuse Prevention program.
Programs: Revamping the safe home at the community alliance against family abuse - we revamped the domestice violence safe home area of the community alliance against family abuse (www. Caafaaz. Org). The safe home provides a safe, supportive, and confidential place to stay while healing from emotional, financial, physical, and/or sexual abuse and/or sexual assault.
